HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver | Nights

Job Description

We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Drivers for ongoing work based in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The role involves night trunking and RDC deliveries across the country, using a modern fleet of curtain-sided and refrigerated box trailers. Most shifts consist of straightforward trunk runs with minimal handball, typically completing 1–2 deliveries per shift.

With night shifts available seven days a week, we can accommodate drivers looking for regular full-time work, part-time shifts, weekend work or occasional ad-hoc cover.

The Role

• Night shifts starting from approximately 18:00 onwards
• Typically 10–12 hour shifts
• Night trunking and RDC deliveries
• General haulage using curtain-sided and refrigerated box trailers
• Usually 1–2 deliveries per shift
• Securing loads using roof straps and ratchet straps
• Minimal handball involved
• Modern, well-maintained fleet of vehicles
• Maintaining safe, compliant and professional driving standards

Pay & Benefits

• £17.00 per hour – Monday to Friday nights
• £21.28 per hour – Weekly overtime
• £24.00 per hour – Saturday and Sunday
• Weekly PAYE pay

The Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Valid Driver CPC (DQC)
• Newly qualified Class 1 drivers welcome
• Six months' Class 1 experience advantageous but not essential
• Confidence securing loads using roof straps and ratchet straps
